On 19 March 2020, the European Commission adopted a Temporary Framework for State aid measures to support the economy in the current COVID-19 outbreak in response to the severe public health emergency for citizens and societies. The aim of the Framework is to allow EU Member States to tackle the difficulties, encountered by undertakings, whilst maintaining the integrity of the EU Internal Market and ensuring a level playing field.
