Kambourov & Partners acted as local counsel in Bulgaria on the acquisition of Swedish Telia’s international carrier business - Telia Carrier, by infrastructure management specialist Polhem Infra.
Telia Carrier is a global provider of back-bone connectivity with a top position in the global rankings of companies operating Internet backbone networks. Content, services and operator customers of Telia Carrier represent 65% of global Internet routes. Its network spans across Europe, North America and Asia and connects customers in more than 120 countries. Polhem Infra invests in and manages infrastructure assets and is jointly owned by the Swedish Pension Funds First AP Fund, Third AP Fund and Fourth AP Fund.
Following the acquisition of Telia Carrier, Polhem Infra will own and operate more than 74,000 km of fiber network with 320 points of presence in the world. As part of the deal, Telia Carrier and Telia Company entered into a long-term partnership aimed at combining the unique abilities of the two companies in the provision of services and the development of new solutions for customers.
