Bulgaria marks Constitution Day and the professional holiday of Bulgarian Jurists

Today, 16 Apr 2013, Bulgaria marks Constitution Day and 134 years since the adoption of the first Bulgarian Tarnovo Constitution, that established a constitutional State and laid down the foundations of the modern Bulgarian State and its separate powers - legislative, executive and judiciary.
Praised as one of the most progressive for its time, the Tarnovo Constitution guaranteed equal rights to all subjects of the Bulgarian Principality. It also introduced the common polling census and the passive and active right to run for elections.
On April 16, Bulgarian jurists celebrate their professional holiday.
