Dennitsa Dimitrova joined
Kambourov & Partners in 2019. She leads the firm’s Tax Consulting line of business. Dennitsa
has over 13 years of experience in the area of international taxation and prior
to leading TCE, she was part of the tax and legal teams of TMF (2006-2009),
KPMG (2009-2016) and Deloitte (2016-2019) where she managed the VAT compliance
clients portfolio, conducted tax audits involving large amounts of VAT for
refund and successfully resolved tax disputes as negotiator. Since 2016, she developed and started providing excise
and customs compliance services.
Dennitsa’s extensive work
experience includes:
- Part of the legal team of the Bulgarian CJEU
Case C-124/12 – AES-3C Maritza East 1 on the interpretation of Directive
2006/112/EC — Articles 168(a) and 176 — Right to deduction;
- Participated in the development and implementation
of VAT compliance software created for conversion of data from any ERP /
accounting system into VAT return;
- Dennitsa also specializes in taxation of the
energy and commodity sector, whereas in
the last several years, she has been consulting the offshore oil and gas
drilling campaigns in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Republic of Bulgaria
in the Black Sea;
- In 2012, initiated an update of the Bulgarian
BULSTAT Register software so that foreign players on the liberated gas market
would be able to register in Bulgaria and meet their excise reporting
requirements. Subsequently, the wholesale traders of energy products in
Bulgaria was released from excise reporting obligations.
